Poble Vell de Súria (Feria Medieval)

Súria at Easter: Caramelles de Súria

Súria is the catalan capital of caramelles for its antiquity and the large number of participants that brings together this traditional street singing and dancing party to celebrate Easter. Pla de Reguant de Súria

The Pla de Reguant is a riparian forest located in the south of the town of Súria, on the right bank of the river Cardener.

The meander of the river in this area has favored the formation of the current 19-hectare riparian forest, the largest in central Catalonia.

The Pla de Reguant, at the end of the Castelltallat mountain range and also halfway between the sea and the Pirineus, makes its biodiversity especially rich.

Nearby, in a place called El Salí, in 1912, potassium salts were discovered.

Parque de la Montaña de Sal de Cardona 

The Cardona salt mountain It is a diapir that grows every year, occupying a depression in the ground in the shape of an elongated ellipse with a land area of ​​1800 m long by 600 m wide and an area of ​​100 ha, with natural characteristics that have made it worthy of be included in the Plan for Areas of Natural Interest of Catalonia.

The salt outcrops are located within this depression, which is why it was formerly known as the Salino, and is currently known as Valle Salino.

La Cova de Sant Ignasi de Manresa

Place of prayer and recollection for Saint Ignatius.

Ignatius of Loyola came down on foot from Montserrat to Manresa. It was the year 1522. Here he spent eleven months, a time of pivotal importance for his life and for that which would later be the Company of Jesus. His privileged place of prayer was the Cave. It is a cavity over the river Cardener, excavated by the fluvial erosion during the Tertiary. The current Center of Spirituality stands around it. The experience lived here by Saint Ignatius was the origin of his book Spiritual Exercises.
